Crystals. Ever wonder what the heck people are doing with crystals?
In the past I have been a skeptic. I am a ‘crystal convert’ largely due to largely due to the incredible experience I had with a master crystal in Hawaii–I literally was overcome with dizziness while meditating in it’s presence. And recently, while I was in Arkansas for the Earth-Keepers conference, I meditated with Max the crystal skull, and had one of the most profound healings of my life.
Crystals are minerals that have grown into geometric solids. Temperature, pressure, chemical conditions and the amount of space available are just some of the things that affect a crystal’s growth. As more and more atoms arrive and bond to each other, the pattern keeps extending and the mineral grain grows. Crystal grains grow until they bump into each other or bind with rock.
There are some crystals that form inside a rock shell called geodes, and there are others that don’t hit rock and complete their pointed geometric pattern on both sides. These are known as Herkimer diamonds, after the New York location where they are found.
Crystals are considered piseoelectric, which means they are solid materials that hold an electric charge. Quartz technology has long been used in watches, televisions and computers. What is becoming more widely understood, is how crystals can be useful in energy work.
By “programming” a crystal with intention, we can affect and change the vibrational frequency of it.
We live in a world made up of crystalline structures and matrices. The human body itself is a vast matrix of energy and information. If we consider that consciousness is the energy of awareness and intelligence, then consider the basic properties of crystals, we can say that Crystalline Consciousness is the field of conscious awareness, where we, the microcosm, are connected to the matrix of energy and information in the macrocosm.
Crystalline Consciousness triggers unified states of alignment, integration and balance in which even our DNA is activated!
The healing applications of crystals are many. There is a crystal or stone for every issue, intention or mood. Go out and find crystals that speak to you. Or revisit the ones you already have. Set an intention, play and feel your mood shift by simply handling these beautiful, natural gifts!
To program a crystal in 5 minutes:
1. Set an intention and write it down
2. Choose a crystal
3. Cleanse the crystal (hold it under running water for a few seconds)
4. Place the crystal in your dominant hand and read your intention
5. Repeat the intention until you feel a shift (it may feel like something “clicks” or a feeling of confidence). Usually this takes about 20 seconds to1 minute.
Healing properties of the basic types:
Clear quartz–amplification, protection
Rose quartz–unconditional love
Fun self-healing tips:
*Take a stress-busting bath with programmed crystals
*Add polished, clean crystals to a pitcher of water and taste the differences between the crystal flavored water and plain water.
*Simply program a crystal and keep it with you as a manifestation helper.
There are over two hundred recognized gemstones. Most are minerals that are cut from naturally occurring crystals. To qualify as a gem, the specimen must be hard enough to resist scratching as well as have beautiful clarity and color. Minerals are responsible for the beautiful colors of gemstones. Chromium produces the intense red of Ruby and the brilliant green of Emerald.
In Garnet, Sapphire and Peridot, Iron is responsible for the more subtle red, blue and green colors. The best Sapphires are colored by both Titanium and Iron, while copper is responsible for the blue-green hades of Turquoise.
