So here we are, at the third and final Supermoon of 2014, and boy, has it been a Supermoon summer!
When I wrote about the last two Supermoons that occurred on July 12 and on August 10, we discussed how Supermoons are closer to Earth in their orbit and therefore appear brighter. We also discussed how full moons can pull on our emotions like they do the tides, and how they are a symbol of illumination; of death and rebirth, as well as a time of release and celebration.
September’s Supermoon will appear fullest on Sept 8th at 9:38 pm EDT, but for much of the world it will be fullest on Sept 9th.
According to the Farmers’ Almanac, September full moons have traditionally been considered Harvest Moons because they are most often the full moons occurring nearest to the fall equinox in which farmers can work late into the night by the light of this moon.
Occasionally a Harvest Moon will occur in October, but most fall in September. The Equinox is the day when both the day and night are of the same length — balanced.
This full moon, in addition to being a Harvest Supermoon, will be occurring in the watery sign of Pisces, which may heighten your sensitivity. Previously repressed emotions and patterns may pop up. This can be a time of vivid dreaming. This moon may also offer us a leveraged healing opportunity.
It is a great week to set up a Yoga class, massage, accupunture or Reiki session. Perhaps visiting with an elder — a wise woman or gentleman to sit with, and soak in their wisdom.
In accordance with the subconscious symbolism that is present this full Supermoon, I believe it may be a particularly timely moment to dive more deeply into the concept of letting go.
What if we were to choose to welcome in the new energies of the equinox by bringing in the harvest through clearing our emotional fields?
Now might just be the perfect time to let go of dreams that no longer fit and people who aren’t supporting your highest good.
Some of us might be challenged to let go of possessions, some places and others people. As I wrote about in a previous piece, loss brings about a sacred opportunity to see what really matters. The death of outdated aspects of our self allows us space to nurture the new growth.
But we must let go of the old in order to recognize the new opportunities and freedom at hand.
If you are being called to let go of a person in your life, feel free to adopt the attitude that most of the time, it’s not about people being toxic, it’s about toxic interactions and dynamics.
With this understanding, you can leave the dynamic, and if you maintain loving boundaries and communication, you will be able to catalyze great positive effects in yourself and your circles.
If you want to heal a relationship, and are feeling clear and loving, check the willingness of person you are trying to connect with. Understanding requires willingness.
Take the time to see things from the other person’s perspective, and then be generous in acknowledging the truth of their experience. You can’t help but heal the relationship. If there’s not willingness or communication, you’re wasting time. It’s time to let go.
People are pulled to those they have a vibrational match with and repelled by those they are challenged by. When someone or something leaves our life, it may just be the perfect time to make the break, free up some space and energy to identify and connect with those people who are a better fit for us.
If someone is meant for us to connect and travel with, nothing can keep us apart for long. Trust that they will re-emerge when the time is right. Ever heard the saying that rejection is protection? It’s not about pushing away, judging or condemning. It’s about stopping the exhaustive cycle of trying too hard, and just letting go… if only for now. I have personally found that when I sit out a round, get clear and focus on my values, good things happen.
And remember…
Lessons cycle. When letting go, there is no need to look at situations with permanence.
Notice where you are in the cycle. Who and what is meant for you will cycle back around.
You can trust that your dreams and/or loved ones will resurface when the timing is right. Just like the moon, there are times we will cycle (orbit) close to each other, and other times we will be distant. This serves the lesson-learning and manifesting process.
Letting go is an art form. In our culture, persistence is applauded. It takes more courage to let go sometimes.
It’s a great time to let go of:
- Anyone who won’t allow room for your growth or acknowledge the evolving truth of who you are.
- Those acting aggressively or passive-aggressively toward you — those who pick fights, belittle or criticize you.
- Anyone who leaves you feeling confused…it’s best to give that dynamic some space to sort itself out.
- Dreams and goals you created trying to prove something to yourself or another that feel heavy and burdensome. Re-evaluate, redefine, and watch the energy flow in.
Change is constant. In this ever-changing universe, things are dying and being born all the time. Learn to love and accept the changing form.
If it is not aligned with your soul’s purpose, it is always best to let go… and before too long, notice how light and on-track your life feels.
Enjoy the full SuperMoon, everyone!
